Personal Training For Seniors

Age Increase DOESNT Equal Health Decrease

Modern day life has us believing that we all face a long and slow decline after a certain age, usually around 40. We have all heard the advice “don’t over do it you are not as young as you used to be” and we have all been guilty of thinking we are not as fit as we once were.

Capitalism has a lot to answer for too! There is serious money to be made in making our lives “easy” or giving us “short cuts” as we get older.

Personal Training for Seniors – Our Beliefs

  • Your body is capable of doing so much more that you believe it can
  • You don’t have to be in decline as you get older
  • You can still get into the best shape of your life (no matter where you are right now

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a 70 year old get in shape?

Yes of course you can! The human body is truely amazing and you can improve your fitness at any age. Even if your 100 years old or older you can still build muscle and strength.

What Is The Best Exercise for a Senior?

Generally I always say the same fitness and health applies for seniors as it does for younger adults. In other words what works for younger people will also work for senior people also:

  • Squats
  • Deadlifts
  • Bench Press
  • Pull Ups
  • Overhead Press

The amount of weight and range of motion may need to be amended otherwise the same applies

Are Squats Good For Seniors?

Yes, squats are a fantasic exercise to do regardless of age. The weight and range of motion may need to be changed otherwise we are good to go – squating is a basic human movement that will perserve and even grow muscle mass in the legs of seniors.

Should 70 Year Old's Lift Weights?

Yes! Lifting weights build strengh, muscle mass and slows down the aging process. Iin my opinion the best thing you can do for your health is lift weight and build strengh regardless of you age.
